You can start soas from the unix prompt with the following arguments:
soas in the expert mode, type soas expert
soas -Ename where name is the editor name (e.g. -Evi' to use vi instead of emacs).
save, the stack of buffers is saved when you quit soas.
load,' a saved stack is loaded when you
start soas,
-ffExpression
soas for
various softwares. ``Expression'' can be either of: GPES,CH,EGGsave,EGGexport.
You can define the default file format options for a directory by editing a soas.ff config file in that directory. See the section about configuration files.
Load, Save and broWse commands) using the option
-listpatternExpression. If you want to list the ``*.[fF][iI]*''
files, start soas with the option
-listpattern\*.\[fF\]\[iI\]\*
-lispatternExpression options.
checkptoff It happens that files exported by GPES contain
a data point that is completely off scale...(often at
X=0,Y=0). After loading a scan, soas cann look for such points
and delete them. Use option nocheckptoff to enable this
feature. This can be turned on and off while you are using soas
by using the commend check.
letter
sets the page format to US letter. Default is A4.
NB: soas help at prompt gives you the list of options (and abort).
You can combine the options, and/or redefine soas using an alias
in your .cshrc file.
