Changes with respect to earlier versions
- The div command, is
for dividing the data by a control signal, and the
film_decay command corrects chronoamperometric data when the current is a
step function distorted by film loss[2]. (from
version 3.6.5)
- A new command for deleting spikes "by hand": [filter
commands] (from
version 3.6.5)
- The program deals with A4 (default) and US Letter paper
size. For the latter, start the program with the option
letter,
or uses the command letter. Come back to A4 definitions with the
command A4 (from version 3.6.2).
- Fit to user-defined functions. fit_arb command This feature is only available if
the program was linked to Scalc, see installation notes.
- The commands typed in soas (or the functions typed in when you
call
fit_arb) can be recalled with the up/down arrows of the
keybord, and then edited, like in any unix shell.
Automatic
completion of filenames (e.g. when you're loading a file) and command
names are possible with the TAB key. load command This feature is only available if the
program was linked to readline, see installation notes.
- Type
comment, then soas prompts ``Comment:'' to ask
for some text that should go into the output file.
- Using
c to cut a voltammogram, type l or r
to set the left/right limit where the scan is reverted. (See
here)
- The chop command makes it easier to cut
chronoamperometric data (01/08).
- The Savitzky-golay filters have been removed (01/08).
- Cursor command. Instead of just returning the position of the
cursor, it is possible to set a marker (exact, smooth or off-data) and
get its position. (See definitions of marker types here). Using Off-data markers (default) does the same
as with versions 1 & 2.
- The overlay file command can no longer plot more than two
buffers, but the limits of the plot are now properly
recomputed. (09/03)
The former overlay file
command is still available,
but was renamed as ov. (10/03)
To overlay more than two
buffers, and rescale the plot properly, you should use the new
mark commands. (09/03)
- For plotting and printing using colors, see the colors
command. (10/03)
- It should now be possible to work with (ASCII) files exported by
GPES, CH and EGG softwares.
Thus the options that deal with the file format have been changed significantly, and can be set using a config file in any directory containing data. To make the story short, GPES users should now use soas -ffGPES.
